Largo Rupe
Largo Rupe, along with Largo Torretta and Piazzetta Santa Domenica, is one of three scenic squares in Fiumefreddo, initially conceived with a sighting and defense purposes against pirate attacks. In 1996 the artist Salvatore Fiume gives citizenship "Wheel of Fortune", which is placed in this space. Original work was composed as a coin with two sides, one side depicting Lady Luck at the turn of a cornucopia, with Castle of Valley in background, and on the other text of a poem which read: "All are to be hopedf ortunes, but there is one bigger, my friend, and it is one that you fall in love with the woman you love", to emphasize artist's focus on the centrality of female figure. Today, unfortunately, this face has been lost.
