Borgo Ognissanti

Where Borgo Ognissanti, 42-44, Firenze

Historical district of the west area of the center of Florence, which takes its name from the All Saints's Church. As the streets of Florence called "borghi", this also departs from one of the ancient gates of the city walls. Formerly the Borgo crossed a land crossed by ditches, along which they worked the "galigai" (tanners) whose reclamation by the friars Humiliated, gave birth to the Ponte alla Carraia and the roadway that leads to Prato. From Carlo Goldoni Square to All Saints Square, across the street alternate noble palaces (Lenzi Palace, Home to Spill, Marschallin Palace, the St. John of God Old Hospital, etc.) and home to antique shops and furniture, and residences popular with businesses.
