Biblioteca Riccardiana
Where
Via Dè Ginori, 9-red, Firenze
It is a state public library founded in 1600 by Riccardo Riccardi at the present location, Medici-Riccardi Palace. Was moved to Via Gironi at the end of the seventeenth century and opened to the public in 1715. Among books and manuscripts, the Riccardiano heritage is very broad, largely unpublished. Within the Code Vaglienti (1910), for example, it was traced a fragment of the oldest vernacular Koran translation, dating from 1210 to 1213, much earlier then the best known by Andrea Arrivabene (1547).
