Tenuta di San Liberato

St. Liberato Park extends through woods and hills that gently slope down to Bracciano Lake, in the places where once stood the city of Forum Clodii. It owes its name to the Romanesque church founded by the Augustinian Fathers. Park was designed in the sixties by famous English landscape architect Russell Page, who was enchanted by the beauty of the place, and features a collection of rare plants from all over the world: Canadian maple, Japanese cherry, camellias, rhododendrons and scented Choysia Ternate, in addition to the precious ancient rose's garden. The pattern is typical of "English" garden but punctuated by evergreen hedges typical of "Italian" gardens. There are several thematic gardens, some of which reflect historical realities to the past, as Herb Garden, opposite the Medieval church, which takes up the themes of the Garden of Simples.
