Torre Troyana
Excellent vantage point to enjoy the spectacle of the city seen from above, Troyana Tower (or Clock Tower), is one of the symbols of Asti and is located near Ducal Palace. The building dates back to the twelfth century; towards the middle of the thirteenth century it became the property of Troya family. Between 1250 and 1280 it takes complete with battlements higher. Throughout the nineteenth century, the bell tower will mark the retreat for the night and signal the opening of schools. Inside, a staircase of 199 steps allows visitors to reach the floor of the battlements. The bell, which still marks the passage of time, is one of the oldest in Piedmont.
