Teatro di Rifredi
The Rifredi Theatre hosts works of prose, research and experimental theater. It was founded in 1883, in the new industrial Rifredi district, the Society of Mutual Aid, which had among its aims also to organize educational and recreational moments. Inaugurated in 1914, the headquarters of the Company had within it a space for theater and social celebrations, which can accommodate about 2.000 people. After the war, the space better defined its function as a theater hall, hosting young Florentine companies experimental. In the Seventies it became famous with the name of "Humor Side", as a space dedicated to satire and mime, under the management of Alessandro Benvenuti and Athina Cenci (the "Giancattivi"). In 1986, the Theater was renovated and came under the artistic direction of the company and Pupi & Fresedde. Compared to the initial structure, it have been made several times in jobs that have changed the look of the room through the creation of a new stage, the ceiling and the wall coverings. Although reinforced in its structure, the floor of the stage still retains the characteristic double slope solution, for the use of the scene is toward the audience that towards the garden place backstage.
