Rodolfo Siviero, known for having directed for many years the "Delegation for the recovery of works of art" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for bringing in hundreds of Italian masterpieces disappeared during World War II, he left at his death in 1983 his house with all the works and furniture in it to Tuscany, with the constraint to allocate the property as a museum open to the public.
