The Palace, also known as Parione, was one of the most sumptuous private palaces of Florence. The Corsini settlement, the richest family of the city after the Grand Duke, dates back to the seventeenth century. On the land where lies the property comprises several buildings, the most important was the Casino del Parione, with adjacent Park. The Palace consists of three main buildings arranged around a large courtyard: the right wing is the double of the left one. The courtyard is accessed by a portal surmounted by the crest of the Corsini family flanked by columns. In view of the traditional Florentine, the building represents a completely new, fully Baroque in style, as can be seen from the original choice of spectacularly highlight the facade on the river through the bellies of the middle terrace, windows with elliptical lowered arcs, penthouses with decorated balustrades. Overlook with balustrade runs along the facade up to the main floor. The crowning of the roof has a terrace decorated with stone statues and vases in terracotta. On the ground floor is a lovely cave, designed by Ferri. Numerous rooms and lounges, rich in frescoes, decorations and original furniture. The Throne Room, of immense proportions and richly decorated, presents a gallery of ancient statues, busts of various authors eighteenth placed on doors and windows. The first floor houses the collection of paintings called Corsini Gallery, the most important private collection of art in Florence, focused on seventeenth and eighteenth century painting by Italian and European artists, with some interesting examples of Renaissance art. Among the paintings on display include works by Filippo Lippi, Giovanni Bellini, Luca Signorelli, Pontormo, Salvator Rosa and Luca Giordano. Today, the Palace is partly inhabited by descendants of the family and in part used as a venue for important artistic and cultural events.
