Designed in 1919 by architect Francesco Fichera, it was inaugurated by King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1930. The building occupies an entire block and has an inverted floor plant respect to typical pattern of post offices: the spaces reserved to the public are located in the outer ring, while the inner ring is occupied by offices, which overlook the courtyard. The facade is very busy by insertion of stones of different colors, among which the lava and the white stone of Ispica.
