Porta Uzeda
Where
Piazza Duomo, 1, Catania
Uzeda Gate links Duomo Square on Dusmet Street. The Gate opens in the sixteenth Wall of Charles V and is named after the Spanish Viceroy Giovanni Francesco Paceco, Duke of Uzeda. The facade harks back to that of the Seminary of the Clerics, to which it is connected, and is a theatrical backdrop that combines all the buildings overlooking the square.
