In the cliff overlooking the beach of Parghelia, and on the same beach, there are granite boulders. Such material has been worked for centuries for the realization of stairs, fountains, benches and some monuments. Trace of such a thriving business remained in the blocks completely submerged by the sea, dating back, according to some, to Roman era.
