Montalto Dora (Torino)
Montalto Dora is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northeast of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,461 and an area of 7.5 square kilometres (2.9 sq mi).
Main sights
The castle, known from the mid-12th century but rebuilt in the 18th-20th centuries. It has a massive mastio and a chapel with 15th-century frescoes. The castle was owned by the bishopric of Ivrea, from which it went to the Duchy of Savoy in the 14th century.
