Villaggio Preistorico, Lipari (Messina)
Near the picturesque bay of Cala Junco, Panarea, is located a Prehistoric Village dating back to the Bronze Age (XIV century BC) and discovered in 1948. The settlement was made up of 23 huts, of which remain oval foundations. Excavations have emerged Minoan pottery and tools, today reconstructed and displayed in the Aeolian Archaeological Museum of Lipari. The site can be reached from Cala Zimmari, continuing along a path with steps leading to the Capo Milazzo's promontory.
