The Municipal Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GAMC) is housed in the historic Palace of Muses. The collection includes over 3.000 works of the most important artists of the twentieth century. The first group was formed in 1979, with the purchase of fifty works by Lorenzo Viani (Collection Varraud Santini) who, enriched by donations, is the largest public collection of works by the Master, exponent of the European Expressionism. Then, the acquisition of the "Lucarelli Donation", forty-five works by important Italian artists of the '900, and the "Pieraccini Donation", 2.300 works of contemporary European art. The largest group consists of graphic works.
