Socchieve (Udine)
Socchieve (Friulian: Soclêf ) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 110 kilometres (68 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northwest of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,009 and an area of 66.0 square kilometres (25.5 sq mi).
The municipality of Socchieve contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Caprizi, Dilignìdis, Feltrone, Lungis, Mediis, Nonta, Priuso, and Viaso.
Socchieve borders the following municipalities: Ampezzo, Enemonzo, Forni di Sotto, Ovaro, Preone, Raveo, Tramonti di Sopra, Tramonti di Sotto.
