Museo di Palazzo Thiene

Where Stradella San Gaetano da Thiene, 10-12, Vicenza

Palace dates from the fifteenth century and is in Gothic and Renaissance style. Renovated in 1542 by architect Andrea Palladio, it has entered since 1994 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. Historical site of Banca Popolare di Vicenza, is also used for exhibitions and cultural activities. Are recognizable elements related to the Palladian style: the entablature and the capitals of the main floor. Among the curiosities, a bizarre chimney built around 1553 by Venetian sculptor Alessandro Vittoria, which is inserted in the vein of "Mannerist chimneys" fantastic and refined common especially in northern Europe plays an adaptation of Hades Mouth.
