Caldes

Caldes (Ladin: Chjaudes, German: Kalteis, Kalds, Gildeis or Gilds) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Trento. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,049 and an area of 20.9 square kilometres (8.1 sq mi). The municipality of Caldes contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bozzana, Bordiana, Tozzaga, Cassana, S. Giacomo, and Samoclevo. Caldes borders the following municipalities: Bresimo, Cis, Malè, Cles, Terzolas, and Cavizzana.
