Ventotene
The territory extends on homonymous island and on the nearby minor island of Santo Stefano, both belonging to the archipelago of Ponziane Islands. Inhabited center has developed around the rock that dominates ancient Roman Port, to which it is joined by a short and suggestive ramp built in Bourbon era. A few meters away is Porto Nuovo, the main point of docking for ferries and hydrofoils. The two ports divide the two main sandy coves of the island: Cala Rossano, to the north and Cala Nave to the south. Punta Eolo is instead the northern cape of the island and home to imperial villa. To the west, cross the cove of Parata Grande, reachable by a path and dominated by a promontory that shelters numerous migratory birds; and continuing towards the south, Promontorio del Semaforo, known for an anti-aircraft post built during the Fascist era, which today houses Migration Museum and Ornithological Observatory.
