Laguna di Venezia (Sito UNESCO)

Where isola San clemente, 1, Venezia

The Lagoon and Venice were included in 1987 in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Being located at the end of a closed sea, the lagoon is subject to large water level excursions, the most conspicuous of which (especially in autumn and spring) cause phenomena such as high water, which periodically floods the lower islands, or shallow water, which sometimes makes the less deep channels impassable. In the lagoon, important tourist destinations are the islands of Murano and Burano, where it is still possible to admire the art of glass in the artisan shops. The island of Lido is a popular seaside resort, home to the famous Film Festival, an event that is only known at Carnival for notoriety.
