It is a glacier in Alpi Pennine. Superb is panorama of Cervino and Monte Rosa. It is especially important because it was equipped for summer skiing. Plateau is reached by cable car on Italian side of Piccolo Cervino. All year round you can visit so-called "Ice Palace", a series of caves dug 15 meters deep into the glacier, where there are sculptures of ice and snow and fact sheets. There are also the refuge "Guide del Cervino", weather station of Air Force and Laboratory of CNR for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and air quality.
