Borghetto

Where Borghetto, Valeggio sul Mincio (Verona)

Borghetto is in Municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona. It is included in the list of "The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy". In Scaligera and later Visconti era it was at the center of the events that led to the construction of various artifacts surrounding it: Visconteo Bridge, Scaligero Castle and Serraglio. At this time it dates back to its transformation into a fortified village, with two access doors and a polygonal wall circle with towers surrounded by Fossa Seriola (which draws water from Mincio river). Characteristic are the water mills, some of which were put into operation, and Church of Saint Mark the Evangelist, whose bell tower contains a bell of 1381. Not to be missed, "Node of Love Festival", the third Tuesday of June: a table of Guinness primates on Visconti Bridge, where the Tortellini of Valeggio sul Mincio are served to more than 4,000 diners.
