The Museum documents the Schmild's life, theater and music in Trieste from the eighteenth century to the present day; exposes costumes and jewelry scene, posters, photographs, prints, medals, paintings, musical instruments, objects, archives and manuscripts. The splendid first floor rooms are devoted to the history of theater buildings and to the protagonists of music and entertainment in Trieste over a period of more than two centuries. The Museum houses a significant theatrical Schmild section devoted to the collection of musical instruments. On the second floor are also placing the spaces dedicated to Giorgio Strehler (of which the museum houses the personal archive) and documentation services and consultation.
