Opened in 2001, in a historic building of the eighteenth century, is the first museum dedicated specifically to Oriental art in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It houses collections of Oriental art, memories and recollections of travel, weapons, musical instruments, testimonies of various types, coming from Asia. The museum of Oriental Art is located a few steps from Piazza Unification of Italy, on the edge of the Old Town, spread over four floors, divided into several sections: the first, introductory, illustrates the relationship between Trieste and family d'East in the XVIII-XIX; the section dedicated to the sculptures of Gandhara; Chinese Section with fabrics, clothes, porcelain, ceramics, ritual objects; section that exposes Japan porcelains, enamels, lacquers, masks, musical instruments, especially the popular theater, weapons, armor, and a significant collection of prints.
