Fontana dei Delfini

Where Piazza Vittoria, Spoleto (Perugia)

It is located outside the walls, in the center of the public gardens named after Robert Baden Powell. It was built in 1825 by architect Luigi Landini, along with the Leonina Gate, that Pope Leo XII wanted to build in place of an imposing Roman architecture in the shape of the mold. The lower basin is made up of plates and blocks of stone, it has an octagonal shape and brings out the coat of arms of the city of Spoleto. The middle column, placed on a triangular base, is adorned with leaf motifs and ends at the top with another tank to bowl; the sides is decorated with three dolphins.
