Sacro Monte di Crea is located on one of the highest hills of Monferrato, near Serralunga di Crea, in the province of Alessandria. Like the other Sacred Mountains of Piedmont and Lombardy, also that of Crea is located in a vast natural park and is included in the list of UNESCO sites. Chapel of Paradise represents the culmination, physical and symbolic, of devotional path: of great scenic effect, even if of uncertain artistic yield, as if to prefigure the exaggerations of Baroque, is the complex of terracotta and plaster sculptures that populate it, a a group of 175 angels carrying Virgin into heaven, crowned by 300 plastic figures depicting saints and prophets and an aerial multitude of musician angels painted on the vault.
