Argentina Theatre, one of the oldest theaters in the city, was inaugurated in 1732 with the production of the opera "Berenice" by Domenico Sarro. In 1730 the Sforza Cesarini family started the project of construction of the Teatro extracting it from a building and a tower of their property. The Theatre, originally wooden exclusion of the walls and stairs, had a Room in a horseshoe, to best meet the needs acoustic and visual. The audience was completed by forty rows of pews, with 186 boxes arranged in six rows. Argentina is famous for having hosted the first performance, in 1816, of "The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini, with Manuel Garcia (father). Today the Theater hosts performances of plays and musical, both operatic that symphony. It is established within the Historical Museum of Theatre, which offers tours of the extensive consultation and photographic and documentary archive.
