Via Condotti

Where Via dei Condotti, Roma

Via Condotti (or Via dei Condotti) is one of the most famous streets of Rome. Located in the so-called "Trident" of the old town, connects Via del Corso to the Spanish Square. The name derives from the presence of the pipelines of the "Aqua Virgo", derived from the reservoir of the Pincio (the "Spoils") in the sixteenth century to carry the water in the lower part of the Campus Martius. Beyond the Course, the route continues straight, changing the name in Via della Fontanella Borghese, and serves virgin water to the Trevi Fountain. Today the Corso is home for luxury shopping, hosting the most prestigious brands of high fashion world, in addition to the historical "Greco Coffee". Crossing the street from Spanish Square to Largo Goldoni it can admire numerous historic buildings.
