Carabinieri Historical Museum was established in 1925 and building that houses, built in the late nineteenth century, is a small but harmonious building that still retains original massing and external lines, with the only variant of decorative elements inserted on perimeter by Army Corps of Engineers on the project of architect Scipione Tadolini. It was inaugurated at the presence of King Vittorio Emanuele III, on June 6, 1937. In 23 exhibition halls, Carabinieri Historical Museum preserves relics (including institutive Royal Patents and the first Corps War Flag), uniforms, weapons, documents, other of considerable material value relating to the history of the Force since its foundation, as well as works dedicated to Carabinieri by artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The route, chronologically and thematically, is accompanied and enhanced by multilingual audio guides and modern multimedia devices. Museum is also a memorial dedicated to Fallen and Hall of Honor, in which are placed the plaster casts of sculptures taken from original ones in bronze adorning, in Turin, Carabiniere National Monument, built in 1933 by famous sculptor Edoardo Rubino and erected in royal palace garden. Besides the exhibition, Museum also by offers historical research, through access to its archives, which can draw researchers and scholars.
