The Museum of Chemistry is afferent to the Museums of 'La Sapienza University. It 'was established in 1986 and opened to the public in 1992.
It is located on the ground floor of the Department of Chemistry. The museum has an area of ​​about 250 square meters. divided into two rooms; has a historical character, the second is dedicated to interactive experiences.
Exhibits and preserves scientific equipment, educational tools, collections of chemicals and documents belonging to S.Cannizzaro and his group, and date back to 1872, when Cannizzaro arrived in Rome and founded the Royal Institute of Chemistry. Noteworthy are also crioscopi, ebullioscopi, thermometers, antique instruments for elemental analysis, colorimeters, spectroscopes and color plates of von Schroeder relating to the first chemical plants. They are also exposed some equipment for the measurement of radioactivity, built by GA Blanc, who worked at the same Institute in the early twentieth century. The museum also displays the latest chemical equipment.
