The museum, directed by Prof. M. Paola Baglione, is pertaining to the Museums of 'La Sapienza University and is divided into several sections illustrating the main aspects of the cultures of pre-Roman Etruscan particularly with regard to that. The current conformation asset of the museum is the result of numerous acquisitions, which have taken place beginning with the opening in 1962 until the most recent ones from the Museum of the Origins (2004) and the Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography Pigorini L. (2005).
The heritage museum is essentially composed of two groups of materials:
The Collection Gorga, with Etruscan and Italic pottery area, dating from the late Archaic and Hellenic, and bronze materials of great representativeness in the Etruscan-Roman and Italic.
The Collection Rellini, with materials falisca area, capenate and the Adriatic coast.
In April 2004, the sale of great importance, from the Museum of the Origins. indoor complex materials found in the excavations of historical age of so-called cavernette falisce conducted between the 800 and the first third of 1900 by Angel Pasqui, Raniero Mengarelli and Ugo Rellini in the territories of Corchiano Falerii.
Recently, finally, (October 2005) the acquisition of a core of 63 artifacts (and votive terracottas, pottery and metal ware), again extrapolated from the vast collection Gorga, on deposit at the Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography in Rome L. Pigorini that further enrich the panorama of the exhibition of the Museum.
