Seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation, commonly called "Palazzaccio", du made between 1889 and 1911 by Guglielmo Calderini, and is one of the major works carried out after the proclamation of Rome Capital. The building is inspired by the architecture of the late Renaissance and Baroque: large facade, completely covered with travertine, is topped by a large bronze quadriga (1926), by the sculptor Ettore Ximenes. On either side of the entrance are the statues of six lawyers, by the sculptor Emilio Gallori. The top of the back side, is embellished with a coat of arms in bronze of the House of Savoy. Inside, the Hall of the Supreme Court is decorated with several paintings, including the cycle of "The Law School of Rome", started by Cesare Maccari in 1909 and concluded in 1918 by his student, Paris Pascucci.
