The Suburra (Subura) was a vast and populous district of ancient Rome. As the population was made up of the urban underclass, living in miserable conditions, the term still has the general meaning of slum, "crime hotspot". The Suburra Wall is a very special monument: built in stone cab, particularly resistant to fire, is 33 meters high and built with an isodoma structure. The boulders that compose it, in subfloors exact, are not bound with mortar, but wedged together with oak disposed dovetail. The Wall, with its three rows of travertine, stands for over 2000 years for their own weight.
