Opened in 2008 in the Ice Factory, at the former abattoir of Piacenza, whose equipment were left in situ as a significant document of industrial archeology, the new location of the Museum takes the visitor to the discovery of the natural habitats of the territory of Piacenza through an exhibition organized into three thematic sections: the Po, the Hill and Mountain. The treatment of the three main natural areas (geology, botany and zoology) is available in every room with each other integrations. The core of the collection consists of petrographic collections, botanical and local birdlife. The exhibition makes extensive use of reconstructions, dioramas, life-size models that allow the public a direct approach to the many aspects of natural-environmental.
