Raccolta di Palazzo Murena

Where Piazza dell'Università, 1, Perugia

See since 1810 of the University of Perugia, Palazzo Murena belongs to a former monastery complex designed in 1740 by architect Carlo Murena, flanked by Luigi Vanvitelli in the construction of the adjacent church of New Montemorcino. Along the wall of the corridor is arranged a collection of casts epigraphic (400) in the Etruscan language, formed largely by Count Giancarlo Conestabile della Staffa (1824-1877), archaeologist and professor of the Faculty of Archaeology of the University after Giovan Battista Vermiglioli. Created for educational purposes, to study the Etruscan language, the collection consists of casts performed on the originals after excavation.
