Also called "the Temple", located in the homonymous St. Angel's district, on the hill near the Fort. The dedication to the warrior angel is not a case, often used in churches close to the city walls to protect the city. Probably it dates back to the fifth century, built it was on an existing Roman mithraeum, in turn built on an Etruscan temple. Around the year 900 it was quite rebuilt and in 1487 it was damaged by the Baglioni family, who turned it into a military entrenchment. In 1948 it was subjected to further restoration work, which resumed their light the ancient frescoes and the twelve windows of the central drum. In Medieval past is the Augustinians, who still showing its jurisdiction. It has a central plant, which is on two concentric areas, respectively, an ambulatory and the presbytery at the center of the altar. A split from the ambulatory of the presbytery are a series of sixteen Corinthian columns. The ceiling is beamed, probably rebuilt in modern times. Noteworthy are the Gothic arches. The altar consists of a floor made from a tombstone from Roman times, supported by a truncated column. The floor is decorated with several tombstones, which are the coats of arms of the many guilds of the city. The facade has a marble portal of the fourteenth century.
