Trasimena Gate, also called Arch of San Luca to the proximity to the homonymous Church, was built in the second half of the third century BC, within the contemporary Etruscan walls. It was one of the seven Gates of access to the Etruscan city along the road to the Trasimeno lake. During the Middle Ages it was rebuilt: the original arch was changed to a pointed arch was added and the lion still on the facade.
