The museum, unique in its kind, is hosted inside the Palace Renaissance architect. Documents through the exhibition of objects, photographs, posters and media the centuries-old tradition of music and theater in Parma, which begins in 1628 with the inauguration of the Teatro Farnese. The tour allows you to retrace the essential aspects of the history of opera documenting the transformation from spectacle reserved for a select few at a public event, sanctioned also by the construction of public theaters such as the Teatro Ducale (1687) and the New Ducal Theatre , today's Teatro Regio (1829). Of particular interest is the section dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, titled "1913: The first Festival Verdi", which examines aspects of the figure and work of the great master.
