Located in the popular Oltretorrente, the house where was born the great conductor Arturo Toscanini (Parma 1867-New York 1957), is one of the symbolic places for memories of the Master, who actually lived there only during early childhood. Donated by the heirs of the City Council Toscanini in Parma, establishing therein that restructured the museum in 1967, collects materials mainly coming from the residences of the musician in Milan, in Via Durini, and Riverdale in the United Uniti.Il exhibition, characterized by a recent and more modern version that the traditional form of house-museum - unable to return atmospheres and feelings closely linked to the figure of the Master - combines modern technological aids useful to better appreciate the nuances of artistic themes and Toscanini, brings together musical editions, numerous items personal memorabilia, furniture, paintings, posters, drawings and photographs. The new route runs developing certain themes that shed light on the personality and biography of the master, it emphasizes the fame that surrounded him and revisits the main stages of his artistic career and the record production. Movies and listen to the most famous performances of the orchestra "fall" even more visitors to the Toscanini lived. Among the memorabilia on display is also a Bechstein piano belonged to opera singer Aureliano Pertile, where Toscanini was very close. Other witnesses are preserved in the artist studio set up at the Music Conservatory "Arrigo Boito" Parma.Il Museum is part of the Institution House of Music of the City of Parma.
