Il Capo is an old district of the historic center of Palermo, and the name by which it means the traditional market is held and where the district is identified. It stretches along the street and Carini, Beati Paoli, St. Augustine and Cappuccinelle. Augustinians were popular in this area at the first, because they had their headquarters in the adjacent convent to the fourteenth-century St. Augustine's Church. One of the main entrances to the market is Carini Gate. The market (along with those of Ballarò, Vucciria, Lattarini and Mercato delle Pulci) is an important agro-food retail outlets, lively and characteristic colors and the sellers screams (vuci).
