Where VIA FRANCESCO DE SANCTIS, 19, Napoli

Sansevero Chapel (also known as Church of St. Mary of Pity, or Pietatella) is among the most important museums of Naples. Located near St. Dominic the Greater's Square, this Chapel, now deconsecrated, it is adjacent to the family palace of the Sansevero's Principles. The Chapel is home to masterpieces like the "Veiled Christ", known worldwide for its marble veil, the "Modesty" and "Disillusion". Unic for architectural and artistic point of view, full of meaning and symbolism, it is also home to numerous other works of unusual invoice: anatomical machines, two bodies completely stripped to the bone, on which it can see the entire circulatory system. In addition to being designed as a place of worship and family mausoleum, the Chapel is especially a Masonic temple that reflects the genius and charisma of Raimondo di Sangro, seventh Sansevero's Prince, developer and creator of its artistic apparatus.
