Museo del Tesoro del Duomo di Caorle

Museum is a collection of paintings, reliquaries and other sacred objects belonging to parish community of Caorle and handed down by the bishops during a millennium of history. It is located in Duomo complex and is divided into two rooms: the first, larger, contains four display cases with sacred furnishings (ostensors, pyxis, altar crosses, reliquaries and objects belonging to the bishops of Caorle), and some exhibitors containing sacred vestments (copes, planets, dalmatics, stoles and handpieces), together with six of the icons that constituted ancient iconostasis of Duomo; in the second room are contained, in several exhibitors, some relics of saints, additional sacred furnishings and numerous objects that belonged to Pope John XXIII. Among the most important relics certainly stands Saint Stephen Protomartire' s skull, patron saint of the city.
