Gabinetto numismatico e medagliere

Where Piazza Castello, Milano

The Numismatic Cabinet is an important collection of coins and medals: it's about three hundred pieces in electro (natural alloy of gold and silver), almost all from Asia Minor, distributed in two collections, one municipal and one other state. Archaic coins are the most valuable, are from Ephesus and date to the sixth century BC; the historical overview continues with the Roman empire, until you get to the more modern. The Cabinet is much frequented by scholars and enthusiasts from all the world.
