The Museum of the Basilica of St. Ambrose was founded in 1949 and is located in the premises of the porch of Bramante. The exhibition, developed in three rooms, documents the history of the Basilica through vestments and liturgical objects of various periods. Among the pieces of greatest historical and artistic value: the bust of "Blessing St. Ambrogio", of the tenth century; fragments of the wooden doors of the main entrance of the Basilica, dating from the fourth to sixth centuries; the so-called "Litter of Devotion" of the fourth century, which would host the Saint's body during his funeral.
