Where panarea, Lipari (Messina)

It is the smallest and the least elevated island of Aeolian archipelago, as well as the oldest, with the islets of Basiluzzo, Spinazzola, Lisca Bianca, Dattilo, Bottaro, Lisca Nera and the rocks of Panarelli and Formiche, is a micro-archipelago between Lipari and the island of Stromboli, located on a single submarine base. Panarea was inhabited already in Prehistoric times as evidenced by the village of Bronze Age (XIV century BC) on the promontory of Punta Milazzese, south-west of the island. Mediterranean area of Panarea presents prickly pear, lentisk, broom, caper and ancient olive trees. The only possible landing is allowed by Ditella airport, in the village of San Pietro. Mass tourism success, influenced by the definition of "Island of VIP", has declared Panarea "the epicenter of the most chic summer scene in Mediterranean".
