The Lungarno Acciaiuoli goes from Ponte Vecchio to Ponte Santa Trinita. It overlooks the Torre dei Consorti and one side of the Spini-Feroni Palace. It named after the Acciaiuoli Palace that overlooked it until it was destroyed by German mines in 1944. In the fifties suffered a controversial reconstruction. Originally, the Lungarno was called "the Hatters," which focused in this area their shops. In the nineteenth century it faced two of the most important hotels of the city, in which stayed Charles Dickens, Henry James and many more.
