Complex founded on the site on which stood the houses of Francesco Favaro and grandchildren, near the synagogue. St. Mary of the Virgin's Church and its convent were built in 1515 and housed the nuns of the Cistercian Order. The earthquake that struck Cosenza in 1639, caused extensive damage to the monastery. Externally, the Church has a portal of stone and a carved wooden door. The interior, a nave, has a wooden altar of the late sixteenth century, richly decorated and inlaid, on which there is a sixteenth-century table of the Annunciation and a painting of the Assumption. Among other works of artistic merit, some paintings (author unknown) dated to the sixteenth century, the great altarpiece of 1570 depicting the "Death of the Virgin", the "Coronation of the Virgin" in coping with the basic representations of Saints, by Michele Curia, called "Master of Montecalvario". The Church also has a wooden choir of the XVII century and some silverware of the '700.
