Chiesa di San Pietro (I Cappuccini)

Where Piazza Gino Iannelli, 1-2, Cetraro (Cosenza)

Built in XVII century, this Church was neighbour with the convent of the Capuchin Brothers. One of the guardians of the convent was Blessed Angelo of Acri. In 1929 the church became a parish and it took the title of St. Peter Apostle. Today, it is composed by a nave and two chapels: the first dedicated to The Lady of Sorrows and the second to St. Anne. The wooden altarpiece, tipically of Capuchin's Churhes, is caracterized by 5 painting, realized in 1636 by Giovan Bernardo Azzolino, one of the most important painters of the late Mannerism period in Naples.
