The Birthplace An apartment on the second floor of a nineteenth-century palace, is the house in which Verga spent his childhood and resided for long periods of time surrounded by family and close friends. After the death of Patriarch John Verga, heir of the writer, the house was bought by the Sicilian Region and open to the public after restoration.
Inside, the furnishings are kept and the books that belonged to Giovanni Verga.
