Since 1985, the Museum is housed in the Palazzo Fava-Ghisilardi, the first two rooms illustrate the history of the museum with the main groups that contributed to its formation: the room of the "wonders" of the Marquis Cospi, held in the Palace of the public in 1675 and the collection "experimental" general Luigi Ferdinando Marsili, formed as part of the Institute of Sciences (1714).
