The museum is located between the choir and the sacristy of the Church of San Domenico. It was built by the Prior and the Superintendency of Galleries in 1956 to bring together works that until then were in the church and convent. In the room below are works dating from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century, including the Mystic Marriage of Saint Catherine of Filippino Lippi, the crucifix by Giunta Pisano, St. Thomas by Guercino. It is also noted a fourteenth-century illuminated choral and valuable reliquaries including that of St. Thomas Aquinas in the fifteenth century and the finger of St. Louis of France of the thirteenth century.
